Boxster rims on an early 944 ?
Ok, I've got an 84 944 and an 00 boxster. Am wondering if I can use the rims&tires off my boxster on my 944 for a track day or two ? I'm just wanting to use these suckers a couple times to use the last of the tread up before buying new rubber for both cars.(so i really don't want to buy spacers if I don't have to)
My boxster rim dimmensions are:
front: 7.5" x 18" with 50mm offset
rear: 9" x 18" with 52mm offset.

check wheel fitment- You'll need spacers for caliper clearance when going from early to late offset (23mm to 50//52mm) . Dependent upon tire size you may experience "rubber meet fender" syndrome.

Well since no one actually answered you, but just used the typical RL Search answer this will help.
No, you do not need spacers. They will fit. They will look like crap, but they will fit fine. There is no issue with caliper clearence on early cars. Only late cars & those with abs brakes. I know, I have 16" phones on an early car and they look like absolute crap, but the car drives fine.
So, go for it, but dont expect things to look pretty.

Contrary to the above post, I am concerned that the 9" rears may rub the inboard side without a spacer. Especially if they have the normal 255's on them.

They wont. I've got 7 & 9's with 255's in the rear. They wont rub, not on an early NA.
he only wants to do it for a day or two. If the tires end up rubbing ocassionally (in a turn maybe), it's wont be bad and he's replacing the tires anyway.
go for it and have fun.

The issue is rear tire size. The wider the more prone they are to rub.
They will rub inboard unless you are running skinny azz rear tire sizes. Ask me how I know.
Test fit. Then report back .

Yep, I am just being a cheep o. I was hoping to burn off a little rubber from the old boxster shoes since they are on the tail end of their life.
Soon as I finish my roll cage install finished, I'll get the car outta the garage and swap the rims to see if I get a rub. Least it sounds like I have a chance to make this work. The first DE here in Ohio is at Mid Ohio and that's not for a few months so I have plenty of time to swap the rims and take for test spin up my street.
Thanks for all the responses. Worst case I will take some thin plate aluminum and make my own spacers to add a few mm's to the rear.

For whatever it's worth, I needed 1/4" spacers on my front for the Boxster wheels to clear the bearing caps. It's a late-offset car so it may not be an issue for you but figured I'd give you a head's up anyway.
