How can you guys have so much disgust for this swap.. Its at least original and with some more work, it would be pretty sweet. So what, has a Toyota engine in it, but that 1jz will make more power than that 2.5n/a ever would have.

Everyone misspell chassis the same way they misspell definite. There is no such word as "definate". Defecate is a word but not definate. BTW, it is an "original" concept putting that engine in it. There are reasons why its not done often. Why not buy a supra? It doesn't matter its a pig that is made to and weighs as much as a 928. Using rice injection, it would easily reach 1000 hp similar to when you burn moonshine in an LSx. However, what do you consider the top "rice" engines in the world? Supra, Wrx, and Evo in that order. Those motors are not only rice, but its from a discontinued car that was rare to start with. Why not put a tundra v8 in it? At least the phrase "you owe me a 10 second car" won't come to mind every time I see it.

My GSXR burns rice and I love it. Maybe I should transplant it in a 944. That would be original and puts out more hp than a 2.5 n/a. I just need a really long 520 chain (have to calculate the catenary and maybe installer a roller sprocket in the middle of the car) and adapt a sprocket with solid axles in the rear end. It even comes with 6 speed stock and with the 1 down and 5 up sequential gearing, I can use a paddle shift like the Ferraris. Heck, why spend money on individual throttle bodies when you can have 4 individual carbs all synched up? All that and I don't associate rivets popping out all over the place when I hit nitrous.

wouldn't the crossmember being that low really mess with the front suspension since the control arms are connected to it?

With the spacers and longer bolts he used to lower the cross member, I would see this as very dangerous.
Imagine hitting the breaks @ 70mph while hitting a pot hole?
Like I said, IMHO pretty cool, but poorly executed. It is a death trap at its best in the current configuration.

I owned at least 3 supras before the fast & the furious thing, they are not as balanced as the 951 but toyota's have one thing that many europeans's cars don’t have it’s called, "reliability". I do lease a new camry every 3 years, I am a business type guy that need a car for daily commute that requires minimal maintenance or none and at the same time offers great reliability, I live in Chino and drive to L.A. daily, I have gone 14000 miles without oil change, one 4runner that I had was over 270k miles and all I did during that time was oil changes and brake pads, I took that car frequently to puerto nuevo's dunes for off the road fun. Toyota's are just Japanese cars and they look like $hit but are more reliable than any 944, that's for sure, if I were to sell toyota's parts I'll be broke. If Toyota was rice than what is a lotus elise with a celica engine? The supra is a pig but for a young guy going to college in a part time job is a better alternative than a European car. Lego has 50 944’s but out of the 50 only one, maybe two run, that wouldn’t be the case if they were toyota’s.

Here are my toyota's

and my euro weekend rides

When my son is done with the 2jz swap I'll gonna give you a head start in that tricycle of yours than you can come and share that a rice supra smoked the hell out of your bike.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with toyota. My Avalon has almost 90k miles and had absolutely no problems while putting them on. Its the most reliable car I've owned but just a bit lifeless and boring. I'm looking to trade it for an Audi which is very unreliable but at least its fun, oh and the interior isn't cheap. I do like those new camrys though

I think swapping a 944 engine with LSwhatever or rice just kinda defeats the point in owning a 944. If you want a LSwhatever get a corvette. Want a rice bowl, get a rice bowl. Just don't pervert a 944!

Don't get me wrong, I love 951's the way they are, oil leaks, oil smell, unrealiable, expensive to maintain but who cares it's my car and I like it the way it is.

I believe I read that he was going to use spacers just temporarily to mount the motor and get things lined up correctly. He designed his own cross member to have fabricated.

Ok, you want to single me out, thats fine, lets play. Wow, Luis, are you defending a JAPANESE car over a 951? Why last time you were making fun of Honduh's so why is a Toyota different? Why is it when YOUR son owns something you defend him and talk about all kinds of excuses of going to college when you don't allow that kind of latitude with others? Are you agitated for others doing what you do all the time? Are you sure you are OK? When your son's car can show 1/4 miles in the 10s, come and talk to me. Mine does that stock and we can race for pinks so talk is cheap. All the POS cars (less 2 race car shells) in my yard run and for the degree of neglict they go through, ITS AMAZING RELIABILITY. Even the wrecks were driven in there. I just don't cut them up like you do.

"Don't get me wrong, I love 951's the way they are, oil leaks, oil smell, unrealiable, expensive to maintain but who cares it's my car and I like it the way it is." Well Luis, can you let other people like their car the way it is? Or, how about letting others dislike others car and be vocal about it like you do? Isn't there something called the Golden Rule? I thought the bible mentions somethout about that.

I am sorry you can't make your 951 reliable. Mine had 346k miles and I drive mine daily before the kid, which is more than 270k. I am surprised you are not defending the 951 instead.
