Differential Shot?
I experience a clunk in the drive train when I accelerate or let off the gas. When I changed my shocks this morning I noticed about 1/2 to 3/4 play when I rotate the rear hub, it makes a clunk noise at each stop. Does this sound like a diff problem?
Thanks,
Mike

Sounds like you need a new clutch to me. I have read that once the rubber center of the clutch goes there are some metal tabs that act as a limp mode to get you home.

You can definitely hear the clunk with the clutch engaged, and when letting off the accelerator, or depressing the accelerator abruptly.
I don't remember on my car if I heard it when engaging the clutch as well.
On my car, it was a bad rubber-centered clutch.

I had the exact same thing happen to me. It was my rubber centered clutch giving out. It was pretty damn torn apart and all dried out when I took it out, but the tabs held up quite well.

Clutch is bad. Very common symptom when the rubber donut breaks apart and the metal hitting metal. If you do this for much longer or shift hard, the 3 welding points on the disc will break and you will be stranded. Change the clutch. If you want to be 100 percent sure, reach in the access hole through the rear bell housing at the torque tube in front of the trans and reach in to turn the coupler by hand. If it moves back and forth than the clutch center is shot.
