Post Traded in the S2 for an RSX, have some stuff for sale

So I finally did it, I finally got rid of the problem ridden beast. I figured that the RSX was a good balance of performance, reliability, and comfort. I know many of you would disagree but it's one of the few new cars I've driven that Ie actually liked (including the tiburon which felt really cheap). This isn't to say that I wouldn't consider owning another porsche... I loved the porsche, and I hated it as most of you do hehe. Anyways I've got some stuff for sale that I'm keeping because of the little amount I got for her. The following stuff is for sale by offer, if anyone is interested drop me a line at

Air compressor (works in good condition, latch is broken though)
sunroof bag
oem bra
a pair of nice boston acoustics 4x6's that fit in the stock locations(practically brand new)

That's it I think. I also wanted to thank everyone on this board. It's been a great source of laughs, info, and general knowledge.

Adios

yeah I'm positive that they're an exact fit, they're the euro model that are oval shaped as opposed to rectangular. As far as SQ, they're pretty impressive for a 4x6, nice mid to low end punch. I paid $100 U.S for them but I'd be willing to let them go for half that if you're interested

Gee, I'm glad you finily sold it. I've had heart ache over that ad all winter. If work wasn't so slow I would have bought it. Sounded like exactly what I was looking for. I hope it went to a good home.

Al, it broke my heart to sell it. I ended up getting 10000 at a dealer which translates to 11500 because of the tax savings... It's a buyers market out there, you could have the only S2 in the world but unless someone is willing to buy it, it isn't worth a dime

P.S marky and vtach I've emailed you both.

im interested in the sunroof bag for my S2.

acuras are great. my legend coupe was a better all around car then the S2 or any other caf ive owned. it was the most reliable car ive ever owned too. if we didnt hope to need a four door i would never have sold the car and bought the auorora. when we bought the aurora it was close between the aurora and the RL.

you will not regret the acura!

You will not regret the RSX. I had a first-year Integra GS-R and loved it. So reliable. Almost bought an RSX too but went with the WRX instead for AWD and few more ponies. Nothing revs like a GS-R/RSX. They are dirt cheap to modify too.

I may be interested in the bra too if it fits an 86 951 which I think it will.

Soooo? the obvious question is what feels faster?

Both the s2 and RSX should be fair competitors. My bet?: The S2 wins off the line...on a roll, the rsx comes by the s2. I've driven both...but would love you hear your educated experience.

Regards and congrats. Maybe later in life another P-car?

I'm interested in the air compressor. Is it the origional? Or at least a Porsche one?

Email me at steve@marsmonkey.com if you still have it. How much are you asking for it too?

Thanks.

UDPRIDE, I would have to disaggree with you that GSR/RSX's are "dirt cheap" to modify. As an owner of a 95 GSR myself, I would have to say that the ~1000 in go fast parts i have purchased to increase its performance would have made a much more substantial difference in a WRX, 951, or any turbo car for that matter. To get anything serious (hp-wise) out of GSR's takes $1,000's with either complicated computers/engine management systems in conjunction with unstreetable race cams, or SC or turbo kits that cost an arm and a leg. Is the car a ton of fun? Absolutely. However, even a decent exhaust (non-coffee can) will run 500-600! I would classify VW's (particularly early models) or American V8's as the simple, "dirt cheap" choice to mod IMO.

Part of what I meant by dirt cheap was that theres zillions of parts and suppliers out there to modify Acura/Hondas so you can shop the market better and play the game. Perhaps I overstated it a bit, but I still believe compared to many other vehicles, the Honda VTECs are relatively inexpensive to jimmy -- and that inexpensivness all encompasses the care and maintenance on the engine. The VTECs will run forever so long-term investments are greatly reduced. Difficult part on the GSR side is building torque as they have none to start with. Ive got one of those WRXs and they arent cheap to modify. Most people I know stick a KartBoy in it, maybe a ScoobySport, and add better rubber and thats as far as they justify it. Some add swaybars but thats pretty universal for track stuff. I personally think the car is fine as-is minus the crappy RE92s, but thats just me. Subaru does offer stuff from STI like ground kits, performance springs, etc, but they dont warranty them other than the short shifter which, compared to the Acura the stock WRX already feels like a short shifter.

I guess the moral here is if you want to modify a vehicle, buy a Supra TT?? It appears those engines and 7-8K of upgrades can get you Lamborghini eating horsepower from that other thread. Yikes. That was scary!
