I have you all beat.

I bought an manual sunroof headliner that came through the mail with just the shipping label on it. No box, no bag, no padding, no nothing, just the to/from sticker and the postage.

Needless to say that headliner went right into the trash, that is after my insurance claim was all but laughed at.

I collect vintage Star Wars toys. I found a guy selling a very rare item still in th original box. I paid for it and it arrived. Oh the horror. The guy used brown craft paper and wrapped the original box from 25 years ago with the craft paper and sent it like that.

Gotta use bubble wrap and or shipping foam/peanuts!

A few friends work at shipping companies and they admit those packages can get really banged up! Those drivers have to delivery hundreds of packages and they get thrown all over the place.

Thats why you dispose of body parts locally, or cut them into smaller pieces say like a wood chipper....

Oh wait, were talking about car parts? Nevermind.

Chromed 17" Ruf Speedlines. I think they are 7.5s and 9s. Got them from a fellow in CA.

It's the responsibility of the vendor to get it to you in good condition, end of story. You should call him on it.

well to be honest every part that i have bought from a company I used UPS and they have come in safely. the one time I did buy a fender the sender sent it via FED EX so maybe UPS is not good with large packages?

When I pack parts...I do the drop test before I send it out. That way I know it will be safe....may be ugly...but safe!
UPS will pay though. My wife bought an antique wooden telephone, vintage 1930s at a flea market while visiting a friend in IL. She shipped the phone back UPS. In transit the switch-hook (cradle for the hand piece) got bent up. She insured it for 500 bucks. They paid us the 500, then shipped the damaged goods back to the return address in IL, which was my wife's friend. We tried to report the error but UPS insisted they were following their guidelines. We now have the phone and the 500.
