Default What tyre size does the 951 take?

V.quick question... what's the correct tyre size for the 944 turbo 1986? I've seen a lot of different recomendations around but is there a simple correct answer?

Thanks,
Alex

Factory size
205/55 R16 Front on 16x7
225/50 R16 Rear on 16x8

The most common alternate size is
225/50 R16 Front on 16x7
245/45 R16 Rear on 16x8.

This is the standard size for the 88 Turbo S and 89 Turbo although those cars used 9" wide rear wheels.

17 wheels were never standard on the 944 Turbo, but were optional on 968.

Great, thanks!

Is that the same for the 86 turbo though?

Also - for anyone in the UK: Any recommended tyres (looking for good value for money here, not state of the art)

Thanks,
Alex

With 7's and 8's I prefer 205's and 225's, respectively. Too much sidewall buldge if you cram the larger sizes on there.

with a 7/8 setup i would put 225s all around and look for two 8s.
