My 88S is in just as good of shape, and the appraiser said (with Hemmings quotes, etc) a "3" (typical car at cruise nights, car shows, driveable daily) was $13,500 plus taxes for total loss.

WTF is the guy talking about? That car would have to be stored in a bubble, 1 owner, under 10,000 km...but I doubt it.

ohhh.edit...I see he's from Ottawa area...EVERYTHING costs more there...

He better be more realistic about the price of his house or he'll never sell that either.

you can get a very nice 968 for that money. 25k is even close to 996 money.

I don't think he'll even get one phonecall for that car.

There WAS coke in the seats. Him and his "appraiser" must have snorted it all while pricing the car.

I've seen a couple silver rose '88 951 Turbo S sell for this much with 25k-35k miles. No way for a 944s. On top of that, to get any premium price for this car it would have to be 100% stock, 100% original. The ugly rear valance, rear panel, and boxed rockers lower the value quite a bit.

IMO, those aftermarket parts are the exclamation point on: "Hello, I was built in the 1980's!".

It's been for sale at that price for close to 6 months at least, I suggest that he will be waiting a long time as I echo eniac's comment... fugly body cladding.
