Question Oil pump on the Cheap.

It's been a looooong time since I've posted on here. I think the last time was when the good 'ol 944 lost all oil pressure on start up and I was opting for suggestions.

Well, as time has passed the cause of my zero oil pressure is a wiped out pump. As the title says, can I get an oil pump that is NOT $750? It's a 1987 944 (non turbo) 5-speed with 117,000 origianl miles.

TIA

eh, I thought about that route but I'd hate to tear this apart AGAIN on account of another pump going bad.... either rebuilt or new is where I was wanting to head with this.... or if someone has a relatively NEW one lying around that wouldn't mind selling it to me. Those options reduce the risk of it failing again any time soon and sving me the headache and time of doing it again.

How did your pump go bad? Those things are almost indestructible.
