Post water in rear pass. floor

ive just changed out the tube from the sun roof but i didnt find any hols, cracks or anything that would leak so where is this water coming from.
now i know about the batt box but it is not the culprit also i can park the car nose down on an incline and it wont gather water in the floor (thats why i thought it was the drain tube from the sun roof)but every time i park it straight or a slight nose up when it rains i get water in the floor
please help this is getting annoying.

I assume you can't see any water tracks. I would look at the rear side window or maybe the door seals. Build a wet towel dam on the car, run a garden hose and narrow down the likely leak spot. I wonder if leaking through the fuel fill would run down to the rear floor at the right angle.

I have a 84 944 with exactly the same problem. Seems to happen when parked slight nose up, but its not coming in from the battery area. It can pour and still be dry as a bone one time, the next little drizzle will soak the rear carpet. I've been looking at this for quite some time. Very annoying.

I had a similar problem with mine, but the water mostly ended up in the rear passenger seat and not really on the floor. It was due to a worn out rear hatch seal, and was coming in at the top, over the seats, and dripping down from above. This leaky seal also resulted in water in my rear wheel well compartments. I found it by pouring water all over the rear hatch to find the leak.

Anyone ever track down a definitive solution or cause to this?

I'm also experiencing a wet rear passenger footwell/carpet on my old '86.

I can't find the source, at all. It's had me stumped for months.

Anyone?
thanks

I have another opinion, it may be orginating near the parking brake. I have felt some cool air come from the parking brake area in my 86, i'm assuming there are seals there for the cable...

I am having the same problem too. Here's a thread asking the same question. Figured I'd cross reference, anything that will help get to the bottom of this.

This is another "me too" reply. My 83 does the exact same thing. Once in a while I get lots of water in the right rear passenger foot well. I never get water on the seats, near the door, the carpet going up to the door stays dry. I've replaced the sunroof seal, the hatch seal, checked all of the sunroof drain tubes. I poured water into the door jamb vent and watched it all drain out the holes in the bottom. I'm stumped and my car smells musty!

Here's what caused my soaked floor: below the gas cap is a little drain hole. This drain tee's into the sunroof drain, if you pull back the side carpet in the trunk you can feel up in there. My drain was clogged and the tube had come undone a little bit at the tee to the sunroof drain. There is also a grommet for this hole. When the car was pointed downhill, the water would run down the front/inside of the rear fender well and collect on the pass. side rear floor. When the car was pointed up hill, the water would run down the back of the rear fender wheel and drain out the rear cubby hole, hence, no wet floor. Check to make sure your drain is clear and the grommet fits tight. It's part #'s 12A & 15 at the pelican parts link below. Hope this helps.
