Post How long have you owned our 944?

I was just reflecting on the first day I spent with my beloved 944 in 1996..

The flatbed dropped her off around 4pm, I pushed her into her new resting spot in the driveway. -I had to push her because I bought her with a broken timing belt and bent vales from a local donation lot in Detroit. (Mileage -102K) I'm mechanically inclined for the most part (square peg/square hole, round peg/round hole) and knew that I had done the engine work correctly with the help of the Hanes manual and a couple calls to my trustworthy mechanic on 9 Mile Road in East Detroit, Mi. She's been my daily driver ever since.

Typically I own a car for about two years before picking up something more interesting, when I bought her the driveway was full, I had a '89 McLaren Mustang #168 (owned 5 yrs), '89 5.0 Mustang LX Coupe, '84 Jeep CJ-7, and an '85 golf GTI. The 944 has changed all that, since I've owned her I've sold my stable and have no reason to look back. Don't get me wrong, I've had my woes with her, but I'm to the point where I can't get rid of her. -I mean I don't want to!

The last two sentences leads me back to the subject matter, how long have you owned your 944?

I've had my 951 for 18 months, and my 944 for almost 5 years. Before that I had another 944 for 2 years. Before that I wasnt old enough to drive.

Just clicked over 3 years. Great daily driver/track ho. Don't usually love cars this long. I will ALWAYS own and track a Porsche.

Man I love the smell of brake dust in the morning!

Non-asbestos only. But the smells and sounds of a Porsche at the track is nirvana. Would you agree?
