Yeah one should be a bit more than $100 there without your discount. Otherwise places usually rebuild them for ~80- 90.

Mommies dont count as connections
but seriously, dont get a just plain used one, you know what can happen. if a new one is too expensive, then get a rebuilt unit (im only saying this because i know you want your car running) and it is a better choice than one off someones parts car)

Damn, things are way cheaper in SD than in CA. Here, a rebuild was quoted at $140 and Autozone wanted $135. My boss got me one from Worldpac for $105 and kindly only charged me his cost. The worldpac ones are rebuilt by Bosch and come with a 24 month warranty!

Ha yeah, thats the ONLY good thing about living here. At advanced auto they had one for $113 i think it was, and at an very reputable shop that rebuilds starters and alternators, they charge $88 for a rebuild. I think I would rather live in CA though Winters aren't much fun with diesels here, even with blended fuel and the correct amount of powerservice I still gel up below zero, not to mention i'm only getting mid 20's for mpg on a car that should be getting mid 30's to low 40's

Anyways back on topic, pwnmastap, in the meantime, hit it with a hammer I had to do that for a couple weeks before my replacement arrived!

But seriously, the hammer trick DOES work most of the time. Yeah, I like california but there are some things about it I can't stand. Poorly paved roads, hippies, smog regulations, hippies, most people here can't drive worth spit, and rent is a lot. And I forgot to say hippies.
