New 944 seats! (photos)
Recently I had my 944 seat centers recovered with factory "Porsche script" fabric. Just got them reinstalled today.
Here's a photo of the original fabric, which was once brown but had seriously faded due to age and sun exposure.

Now some photos of the same seats with the NEW factory fabric.

The fabric is actually slightly darker than it appears in these photos. (Camera flash brightens things up.) It is beige, and matches almost exactly the Kalahari Beige paint of the car.
I got the fabric from LeMans Original Interiors, a shop in New Zealand. (of all places!) After ordering enough fabric for the front & rear seats, I had a local upholstery shop do the rest.
With regard to shipping from New Zealand, it was kind of pricey...HOWEVER, be sure to ask them to shop around for shipping. They first quoted me some ridiculous price for shipping (almost equal to the price of the cloth), then they came back with another price that was only a small fraction of that. Seems like shipping was around $60.
I'll doublecheck on how much cloth was ordered. I believe it was three square meters - but don't quote me on that!
Since the seat bolsters were in good shape, we only recovered the seat centers (front and rear). The bolsters are the same as they were originally. (They, like Dick Clark, are apparently immune to the passage of time.)
Two weeks ago the car got a new dash. Today, new seats. It's been a good month for the 'ol 944.

My seats appear to be the same color is there a name or part number for that color?
How much fabric did you order?(doh! just read your last post, beige and three meters?) May I ask what was the total cost of fabric plus shipping?
More info Please!
TIA

I was once told that you can also get that fabric from any authorized Porsche dealer as well. Absolutely no idea about the prices they want though...
I've seen a trick 911 with rollbar paddings covered in the script fabric, and bucket seat middle cushions as well. It did look very neat!

Let's see, here are a few answers off the top of my head. I think the color code is P27, but you would want to check with LeMans first obviously. In fact, when I told them I wanted to order the fabric, they did something really cool - they sent me some actual cloth samples beforehand, so I knew exactly what to get.
The fabric itself was something like $90 a square meter. Got 3 meters = $270. Then add $60 shipping = $330 total for fabric.
Upholstery work was $300. Note that I shopped around A LOT to get a good rate, and removed/reinstalled the seats myself to save on labor (just dropped the seats off at the upholstery shop).
So the total cost of this is a little over $600. The result is front & rear seats that look factory NEW. Heck, they look better than they did when factory new IMHO (gotta love the Porsche script cloth). I could not be more pleased with the results.

Wow, that is very impressive, the shop did great work and you did a good job finding the fabric to do them with.
Congrats, your car is really making leaps and bounds in improvements this month....
