Default Considering a momo pilota

After recently driving a friend's 964, I developed a severe case of steering wheel envy. Also a case of 964 envy, of course, but the steering wheel is something that's in my budget to do something about.

So I'm considering a momo "pilota" for my black on linen S2.

One of these (this is the "cut" version, also available "uncut"):

Whaddya think?

Anyone running one of these guys?

I thought the drawback was that the momo hub adapter causes the steering wheel to be really extended towards the driver.

I might be the only person but I think all these wheels look really really bad in anything built before 2000.

I was looking at Motorsport and they recently did a test of a factory late 70's RSR and it had just the factory three spoke wheel with the horn pad removed. The same wheel found in most every 911 and early 944.

Like this.

Good enough for them, good enough for me.

A lot of people would consider that a benefit. Factory extended hub steering wheels are kind of rare (my 944S has one).

I'm not a fan of too many new steering wheels, that one included. Old, rare, momos do it for me, as do some Nardi and Personal wheels.

Not a tall guy, but I have a Momo Competition in the S2 with the addtional 1"spacer from Momo. Keeps the hands away from the turn signals and wipers during A/X!

I've got the tuner as well and I like it but I wish it was just a little thicker.

I think it will work well in a 944 with the Porsche Crest Horn Button.

Personally, I was against all aftermarket Steering Wheels, and planning on buying a New Factory 968CS Wheel (930S). Until I found the Momo Nero.
I love it, and it looks great in my car.

I already had an aftermarket wheel which desperately needed replacing. I have been in other 944s with Factory Steering Wheels, and it seems about the same.

Check out eBay for Momo Wheels. There are a few distributors who sell on eBay for cheaper then their own sites. Kinda odd, but whatever works....

The first time I drove a 944 without the extended hub I could not get comfortable It was blind luck the first car I drove had one (and I bought it).

Both of my 928's now have one, and I'm having a custom extension made for my Audi. The flat bottom would also help, my track car will be getting one of those.
