Default digital dash-speedo problem

I just purschased a 87 944 Turbo. The PO has replaced the analog dash with a VDO digital dash. Everything works fine except the speedometer is way off. Is there a way to calibrate it? or is something else causing this problem? The speedo reads faster then the actual speed by about 40 mph. Where do I start? Any suggestions?

Digital dash? Pictures? I can't say I've ever heard or seen such a thing. I'd imagine there is an adjustment on the speedo somewhere, but you'd probably need to contact the manufacturer of the dash assembly to find out. While the gauges may be VDO, it was probably made by someone else.

I really would like to see pictures of it.

+1. I'm thinking of doing this. In my research I found a couple of places that calibrate digital dashes. Check around to see if there is one in your area.

How off is way off? Oversized wheels would cause inaccurate readings on the speedo no?.

I believe I saw this car for sale but I cant find the ad now.
Looked like blue gauges from JC Whitney or something along those lines...
