Default '86 944 w/ pics

So this is my first Porsche, specifically, an '86 944 8 valve torque monster with a pimped out momo alpina wood grain steering wheel. I bought it a couple months back and this forum was a huge help in the decision. Thanks for the great info!

I've been lurking around since then on the board finding good info for all the little things I want to take car of on the car. I finally will have a weekend all to myself with some beer, my tools, and a list of **** to take care of.

I really like the car. It's in great shape and runs good so far. It's a nice change of pace from my suby wagon. I have two totally different cars. I can find myself in a S2 sometime in the future, but I doubt I'll ever have two turbo charged cars. I need something with respectable gas mileage and slow enough to keep me out of trouble, but not intolerable.

Oh yeah, props for the "watches" section.

Is that wheel bigger than stock or are my eyes deceiving me?

that thing is fabulously clean, nice car.

as for the torque monster, absolutely lol, if my friends ever need a stump pulled from the ground they call me first

just make sure you stick with the stock gearbox and dont abuse it, it really needs the short gearing to drive decently, i nuked my NA gearbox and put one out of a turbo in it due to the stronger R/P and its a dog below 3000RPM..

Nice I have a very similar Momo wood wheel that came in my 87. The center plate is different but the rim and color look the same.

Looks good with the fuchs!

Welcome to Rennlist and thanks for posting pics of your car - looks nice! You should update your info to include your general location - might help you to meet some other Rennlist folks in your area.

Thanks for the warm welcome and compliments!

The wheels are the stock size but I think the tires are larger than what they should be. They look too beefy for me, but I guess the car rides better than it would with lower profile tires. I'll eventually get another set of wheels for it with stickier rubber for HPDE use.

I'll look into the deflector hinges. Don't know what they are yet, but will find out. The Interior is black but the carpeting is a dark green color. It goes well together but you can tell the interior is a bit aged. It needs some very minor reconditioning, but nothing that worthwhile paying for at this point.

I'm enjoying the car. I'll enjoy it more once I start with a clean maintenance slate. I've been so busy the past several weekends.

I was going to guess they were the 16" replicas to go along with the wooden steering wheel

Carpet might be like the brown carpet on my old 924... after a some time in the sun, it turned green
