The 'rebuild' is a good one for cleaning and re-tracking the wiper arm contacts like on Clarks Garage write-up. My remanufactured AFM failed from spring pressure that was too light to return the flapper all the way to the stop. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about that problem without a very sensitive tension recorder and calibration. The re-tracking does really smooth out throttle response as long as the rest of the unit is working well.
