Can you get a 944 onto a flatbed from the back? Or is that practice frowned upon?
Where are the towing points for a 944? (Front and back) The car I'm having towed doesnt run, so it will be winched onto the flatbed. Any advice is appreciated, I don't want the tow guy to mess anything up.

Hi, I saw a way to pull a 944 up onto a rollback. You use a strap that goes forward up and over the transaxle to form a "Y" and is pulled backward up onto the rollback. I towed a 944 from NC to mid Ga. with a 2 wheel dolly that had straps that fit over the front wheels with no problem. I had to use 2ea 2"X 8"X6' as extensions to push the car up onto the tow dolly. There really isn't a standard way to tie one down except to put straps thru the wheel spokes. You can buy tow plates that attach under the rear on each side.

I have towplates if you're interested but I've always found the easiest way to get the car onto the trailer from the rear is just to put the hook from a winch through the hole opening that gives you access to the rear bumper shock. Once it's on the trailer the best place to strap to is a wheel. Below the suspension is always best to avoid getting slack on the tie downs when the car bounces around.
