How did they install a stereo in this location?

That's just the faceplate for a pioneer DEQ (digital EQ). There isn't a head unit behind it, so it's <1" deep. Very cleanly installed, though.
Edit: it may actually be their add-on FM CD Changer. And that's my final answer.

He had the entire interior custom done...
White cab S2 with 968 rear and rocker panels... very nice looking car...
The car hopefully will get a re-spray in the next couple of years, the entire interior was done in leather, even the rear panels and the A pillars. All done by Robert Budd, awesome work. The steering wheel is a work of art, seriously you can't really know until you hold it in your hands. Real suede used on the **** and wheel, no alcantara.

That's a nice car.
I'd bet you could sell lots of those boots/***** if there was a kit with a couple options. Id pay 150-200 for something that clean. Plus, it doesnt look like a *****.

I wanted to do this! But with a secretaudio remote in the place of that sat-radio. Would've put a center channel in the place of the head.
Too much $$ though, ended up putting in a Clarion Unit that when turned off, looks like a clean black spacer in the stock location.
Oh what could have been...

Guardsred, you mentioned that in another thread, recently, and I must say that I really like the idea of what secret audio does. I've rewired the workings of a couple of decks for integration purposes, myself (limited to adding RCA aux-in and preamp out to older head units) but I've always wanted more for my own use than I'm capable of doing without microprocessors.

Hey, that's my old dash hiding under there!
Looks like a combination of Rob Budd's and Paul Champagne's work on the dash and the wheel/shifter. Good stuff!
Here's a link to the original thread
