Oddest thing happened the past few weeks, my speedometer wasn't registering.
After about 10mins of driving it came back to life telling me how fast I was going. Sometimes it fluctuates 100km/hr to zero and bounces around 100km to 0km 100km to 0km It never seems to work if the car sits for more than a day, sometimes even for a few hours. Any ideas guys? ![]() Really annoying!

Check your grounds. Does it suddenly come back to life if you tap on the instrument panel? I'd expect a problem with the speed sensor, off the gearbox case, to be more consistant. My wifes e30 does the same thing, I cleaned up the contatct points on the printed circut film in back of the instrument cluster and it went away for a while.

I did tap on the panel, but I am not sure if it moved from coincidence or what. What grounds were you referring too?
Thanks for your info
