Post Seattle Dyno Day - 2nd Annual - May 10th

GENERAL:

</font>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">Location: Carburetor and Fuel Injection Connection (aka CarbConn, ECS Dyno), Kirkland, WA</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">Directions: <a href="http://www.carbconn.com" target="_blank">http://www.carbconn.com</a></font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">Date: 10 May, 03</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">Time: 10 am - 4 pm (arrive at 9:30 am)</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">Cost: $65 per car (3-4 runs, as available), $10 Air/Fuel hookup</font></li>
<font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">DETAILS:</font>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">Need RSVP of at least 5 cars to get discount (actually, 4 + me). Regular prices are $95 per car, $50 for air/fuel. Alex says we can run 15-18 cars!</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">Need to start as early as possible to allow for max runs, max participation, and even slight tuning.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">This is considered a "club event" which will probably not allow for much tuning outside of quick plug-n-play changes (for instance: I'll be testing chips)</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">No additional tie-downs are needed. They surely appreciate having Dyno specific attaching points, but can and have done all Porsches without them. If available, bring your front tow-eye. (I may have a spare to loan)</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">Turbos will probably not be able to do much past 3 runs due to heat soak. There may not be enough time in-between runs to allow proper cooling of intercooler. They do have the "wind tunnel" fan to help out though.</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">The "Dyno": Dynamometer, dynojet model 248C, 48" drum. You will receive a printout of your runs (HP, TQ, A/F, etc).</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">The "Dyno Guy": Alex; Very knowledgeable, very nice, very interested in a '44 day (currently building his own 89 951 for Club Race, with a Wolf EMS - and also building a 968 bodied 944 Turbo full GT race car estimated to hit the 600HP mark)</font></li>
  • <font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">This event is for baseline testing of cars. They do offer a full test-n-tune opportunity by appointment.</font></li>
<font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">Please RSVP if you know you'll be able to attend. Any other questions, please Email me. Onlookers VERY welcome, looks to be a fun day. I'll have the morning treats to sweeten the pot.
Last years event went very well - no blown engines! We ran 10 or 11 cars, but had ~15 in attendance.
Yes, there will also be some door-prizes from Paragon!
B E E R - We'll certainly need a few brews to wash down the fumes. The Redhook Brewery is just a few miles from the Dyno place, so I figure we can gather there once the runs are complete.

When: Saturday, May 10th (5pm'ish)
Where: Redhook Brewery, Woodinville, WA
Directions: <a href="http://www.redhook.com/brewpubs/woodinville/index.html" target="_blank">http://www.redhook.com/brewpubs/woodinville/index.html</a>

This is very informal, so no rsvp's or anything... just letting you know at least I will be there with my closest friend (me).

Here's my Graemlin enhanced perception of the Dyno day:

<img border="0" alt="[blabla]" title="" src="graemlins/a_smil17.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[crying]" title="" src="graemlins/crying.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" title="" src="graemlins/drink.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[sleep]" title="" src="graemlins/sleep.gif" />

Hope to meet you there!

Skip -
In similar fashion as last year, my company is threatening to ship me off for the better part of the year. No, not Argentina this time...Montana. I'll have to leave myself as a "hopefully maybe", but not a "for sure". I'll do my best to be there!

Sure...and maybe you can get your oil changed while you're there too...

This is a DYNO DAY!!! You know, strap the car down, do a few pulls, strap the next car down, etc... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Unhappy

I hope to be there. But there are 2 things that this will depend on.

1. I need to get a day off from work.
2. I need to check the date, but I may be in Michigan with the Western Washington Univ Formula SAE crew in a competition.

I'll try to give you a more finite answer as the day draws nearer.

I'm in too! I'm really hoping the turbo is ready to go by then, if it's not, then I'll dyno whatever car I drive, just for grins

I don't like the look of your graemlin progression there skip. Why's the one in the middle crying? Lets hope it's because of low numbers, not a tossed belt. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
