Default An 88 951S goes off to the crusher or could be yours

This car isn't mine. I have nothing to gain by post this here other than I would hate to see it get parted by a junkyard. Just doing a friend a favor.

A friend of mine with a shop has a customer in poor health with an 88 951S car, it needs TLC, but a great base for a race car. Car runs and drives, and could drive home.

155k miles
10k miles in last 5 years
original window sticker, and records back to 92ish. 2 owner car.
mostly original paint, hood/fenders have been painted, car is very very straight, no rust.
Konis, Club sport 7-9x16 wheels, LSD gearbox w/ cooler, swaybars, all still there
has aftermarket chip as its only modification
dash is cracked, cloth interior on seats is beat
everything works except wipers, have not investigated what it needs

Car needs clutch replacement, helper springs sound like they have broken and are rattling around in the bellhousing. Oil pan gasket is seeping. Speed control stalk is broken off steering column switch.

Car has new water pump, belts, rollers etc about 2 years ago, has traveled maybe 1500 miles since. Rear tires almost new, stock airbox was replaced with a new Porsche OE unit not long ago. It has also lived outside most of its life and shows.

Car is currently located In Richmond, VA. Owner would like to get as close to 4k USD as possible. Salvage yards have offerd good money, but hate to see a decent car like this head that direction. This car almost went that route last week but it got a temporary reprieve.

European buyers are welcome, and we can help assit getting the car to por He can email pics, and give further info. Do not waste his time if you are not serious.

The car isn't mine. I have nothing to gain by posting this here. I could really care less if it gets parted or not. After all it is just a 944 turbo. They made a ton of them, right? Who gives a **** if one more goes to the junkyard and gets recycled. My friend is sick and wants to unload it for cheap. End of story. Take it for what its worth. I am enjoying all of the comments. Please keep posting them.

Hey i was just guessing, it seemed like you probably got yelled at for it by the mods. why else would they care, but as you said rules are rules. Membership is a good thing, now you can enjoy the Terror that is P&C and the actual fun stuff that gets posted in Off topic. Be sure to list this in the Members only for sale section as well..

Good luck with your sale, the TurboS is a rareish car for the 944 series so you've got the right idea on trying to get someone to save it.

It is not my car. I am just doing a friend a favor and get **** on in the process. I just figured some of you 944 guys would be interested in a Turbo S for cheap. I was a long time Rennlist member but got tired of the exact same BS that occurred here tonight. If someone wants the car...great. If not, oh well. No skin off my back. I have my fun on the track not on the forums. If some feel as though I am being a bit abrasive and/or an A**hole, so be it.

Save a rare car and help a sick guy in the process. That was my only reason for posting it here. There is probably only about a week or two before this thing is gone to a parts breaker anyway.

If you're so worried about the car/seller why don't you buy it?

If he will be parting it out I am interested in the engine though
