Question Rebulding an engine that has an s2 long block with S accessories

As i've posted before my car has the 3.0 liter S2 Block but has the S head and accesories bolted to it. I'm looking at pulling it out and redoing all the seals, gaskets, belts pumps etc. Browsing 944online I started to price things out, but i'm not entirely sure what sets I use.
Do i Use the water pump set from the S2 or S(I think s2 since I have that block)? Do i use the Head Gasket set from the 944 S or S2 (i think the S since i have the S head).
Do i use the Lower engine gasket set for the S or S2 (i think s2 since i have the block)?

This is what I have added to the cart.

Whats the difference between the S and S2 water pumps?
Can anybody think of anything I am missing? Anything extra I should do or need?
Also does anyone have any other online place that might have cheaper prices?

Thanks for all the help.

Those prices look very steep. Try pelican, Zims, paragon -- those are the three I keep coming back to.

Zims rebuilt WPs have a good rep, and are much less expensive than the price above.

I don't think an S head gasket is going to work on an S2 block.
Are you sure it is a S head on an S2 block? I didn't think they bolted together... I think a water passage is different.

Absolutely positive, I have checked the block stamp and it is an s2 block. Is there a vin or model number located on the tranny? I'm curious as to what kind of tranny it is.

note the different water passages, the top one is a 100mm (2.5L) 8v head, the water passage will be the same on an S head

bottom is a 104mm (2.7/3.0L) 8v with same water passage as an S2 head

Hmm maybe it is the s2 head as well with the S accessories bolted on. Is there a way to check the cylinder head without taking it off? So in that case I buy all s2 gaskets and stuff for the block and head correct?

yes youll notice in my pics that on the 104mm head there is only one bolt on the water passage whereas the 100mm has 2 bolts.

I'm in the middle of a similar project rebuilding my S2 engine, I've found pelican has some of the best prices for most things except genuine porsche parts. For genuine items Sunset Porsche seems to be the best source.

Okay took some pics of the block, and the head render your verdict.

Are you talking about a 16V 944S head? V2 is showing 8V heads and the only 8V 'S' head is the 951S.

Edit: Just saw the pics, 16V.

So it looks like you have an S2 engine in an S body?

M44/41 is an S2 block. The Bore on that is 104mm... the bore on the "S" Engines is only 100mm.

That means it would have to use an S2 head.... The S head will only fit a 2.5 engine properly... or am I wrong?

So order the stuff for an S2 engine
