Adjusting AFM, which way to turn the dial?
Hey guys i need a quick question answered. After installing my new O2 sensor I'm running lean now I can make the adjustment on my air-flow meter like I did last time but i don't remember which way is it to turn the dial to get it to run rich again. Is it clockwise or counterclockwise to richen the air/fuel mixture???
Ahmet I tried your idea you told me last night and I couldn't tell the difference in tension...that and I was also very tired when I did it this morning <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" /> So I set it back to the position it was at.

Your AFM adjustment srew(allen head) is just for Idle. It's ok to run bit lean at idle,,just not under load/bost; clockwise to richen - counterclockwise to lean out.

Thanks alot guys for the help! I set it 2 clicks richer and had a flame come out too! muhahahahahah! the car runs ALOT stronger now and PULLS. But, I think I'm running overly rich now, I can fix that by turning the DME 1 click back to stock, but I wanna enjoy the flames for now

this adjustment you are speaking of, is it just a screw on the DME? Can just turning this one way or the other help performance, however slight it may be? Is it OK to be messing with this switch or is this flirting with disaster?
Thanks

As for the fuel mixture adjustment switch on the side of the dme...
I adjusted this and felt a slight difference in power. Running slightly richer should make for better combustion properties and slightly more power (there are diminishing returns on this obviously). When I installed a performance chip in my car I switched this dial back because I was running too rich. Drawbacks could be slightly worse emissions. I say go for it as there is really nothing to be lost.

I just set my DME switch to the #3 setting (+6% fuel adjustment) when I added a boost enhancer this weekend. I have the boost enhancer set to give about 1.9 bar on the stock gauge, and I see the slightly richer fuel mix as an added measure of safety to compensate on my otherwise stock car.
I didn't run with the boost enhancer alone long enough to determine if the change in fuel mix made a notable difference.
