Am i out of luck? Do I just need to get another clock?
The largest capacitor on my pc board was leaking at the base where it was soldered on. Electrolyte paste I'm guessing. Try replacing any bad looking capacitors; leaking or the tops look like they're bulging. They only cost a few cents each. Just make sure they are the same uF rating. Worth a try anyway.

The technology and processes to manufacture improved since the original LCDs on the 944(late 85) to the 968.
They should be a better chip.

But if there is enough demand, I would combiner it.

I'd be interested in a 968 temp gauge rebuild kit...I think if you were able to make them, they would sell. Seems they fail and you can't find replacements....kept me posted if you do take them on.
Thanks, Bill
