Question Reattaching rear hatch defrost spade connector?

I picked up a spare hatch this past weekend but one of the spade connectors that is attached to the glass for the defroster came off. Is there anyway to reattach this and actually have it function properly again?

So I popped one off today reinstalling the hatch interior trim.

Only way I can figure to do this is to presolder the pad and then heat from the back side to get the solder to reflow but niether of my solder irons seem to be able to heat the connector suffiecently to get it to reflow the solde on the other side.

Is my methodology wrong? Is there a better way?

I had to use a 100 watt solder gun. And yes, pre-tinning the tab helped a lot too.

Yep, I did this about 5 years ago, the whole time I thought I was going to break the glass. I just did usual cleaning, the pre-tin thing (which is SOP in the old days) and then quick heat, flow and release. Contact time was maybe 2 or 3 seconds. I was expecting failure but it worked, with the hatch in place too. Don't remember what iron I was using though...Bruce
