Mahle filters..... Excellent filters, and not expensive. Paragon has them cheap.

I use a trasmission drain pan on top of my oil drain pan. Catches all angles.

i use a k&n one in mine that had the valve. the po had put in one that didn't and oil went everywhere when i took it out lol. the valve makes a big difference.

my car had the Mahle filter and it still dripped a couple of "Shots" (universal measurement, every body knows how much a "Shot" is) of oil when it came off and I lifted it out, replaced with the same.

I would refrain from puncturing the filter until you loosen it first. Otherwise you're stuck with a hole in your filter if you can't get it off the car.
