Default 1986 944 Turbo - what's a fair price?

hey guys, not trying to sell here cause my membership has expired and I know that's against the rules, but I've been kind of out of the loop for a while so I want to know what's fair to sell my car for. If someone here wants it, I suppose I could renew my membership to make things legit.

There's about 140k on it, it's got some dings and dents as per usual. It gets me everywhere I want to go almost every day though. I love it.

pros:
full 3" exhaust
lindsey boost enhancer
chips - running at 15psi
boost and A/F gauges
recent timing & balance belt plus front engine seals
service records since the 90's
brand new battery
uncracked dash
garaged every winter
great tires

cons:
burns a bit of oil.
needs thermofan switch(which I have)
alternator belt squeals intermittently at night, not sure why yet
has a stalling issue which I have narrowed down to the sensors behind the manifold
needs new porsche emblem on the front

I don't want to sell it, at all... in fact the thought is actually downright depressing. I've had this thing for like 5 years and I've loved (almost) every minute of it. But I'm trying to build up my business and unfortunately I think I've gotta get some different priorities for now :-\

Roger that. I only have a bunch of outdated pics. I'll make it a point to take some this week.

ps- I paid $6000 for it in 2005

Yeah, best case with good paint/interior. My concern is that an engine with 140k that burns oil is not a good starting point for most people.

Is it the Turbo burning oil, or the motor?

I think it's the Turbo. and now that I think about it, I think I have a rear seal leak too cause if the car sits for a day or two, then it gets a bit smoky from the oil on the exhaust burning up.

I think he is referring to the rear main.

yeah rear main.

I've done the timing and balance belts(and the retension) and the front engine seals, plus a bunch of little other odds and ends. The car has been really good to me, hasn't needed too much. the belts were just preventative too.

I have a bunch of service records from before I owned it, it's got a pretty new clutch and a newish head+headgasket(P/O broke the timing belt)

You'd have to put it up and see. Look around a bit and see what kind of shape the other 4-5k 951s are in.

You really need to post some picture for a more accurate guesstimate.
