How to convince the wife I need 2 Porsches?
I currently have a 944 N/A. Have found a good deal on a 951 that runs well for under $4K. She says that I can get it if I sell the N/A. Would like to keep both . Is this going to be posible?

I did that. I told her it was a good buy and since cars are my domain, there was no problem then. Every once and a while, she breaks them a bit if she wants something. When you get, you have to give sooner or later.

951 - two Porsches - no biggie
Trust me....
My dad has bought so many vehicles under the same circumstances as you, and I have watched the smoke clear after he initially gets his *** reamed, in 24 hours tops. The worst reponse to any of his purchases is when he showed up with a Subaru 360 (tiny micro-car like clown's use in the circus...pretty much a beater). His friend, a master Subaru tech was supposed to buy it, but did not want to do the body work it needed, so my dad bought it instead. The purchase was viewed as a conspiracy for my dad to want to buy it from the beginning (total bs) and hell broke loose when it was unloaded from his friends trailer in front of the house., Even in that case, by the next day, all was well. The car was hidden in the back shed, and all ball-pein hammers were locked up
If you get lucky, some day you will sell the thing and make some $$. Then you can turn to your wife like my dad does to my mom and say. " When is the last time you bought something at the mall and sold it for a profit"? That usually ends one argument and starts the next. Just be sure to have an alternate source of lodging, just in case.
I vote....Go for it!!

I just went through this buying a 968...tell her you are buying it for her, then put race seats in it and upgrade the suspension...it will then become too uncomfortable for her to drive and it's all yours again

Alternatively, tell her that you'll put the n/a on the market as soon as you get the 951 all sorted out. And that's never really going to happen.

Is she more logical than emotional? If she's more logical, explain the price range that these cars usually sell in and that it is a smoking deal. If she is more emotional tell her how stoked you would be to have one. As far as selling yours...you never get back what you put into a car, she understands that or she doesn't. If she likes riding in the 944, take her for the test drive in the 951 and let her get a feel for some boost I think you can pull off keeping both (assuming doing so wouldn't cause any financial strain) with minimal drama. But then again, I don't know your wife.

I honestly could not really see owning both. Just too close to the same car to really want to have both.
Buy the 951. Take what you like from the 944 and sell it.
I like a little diversification in my vehicles. (and I do have 2 Porsches, but totally different ones)
