Looks like fun. A silver 959 drove past me today in West Auckland

Are you sure it was a real 959? I saw a 959 body-kitted something (beetle? old 911?) in Warkworth today and it was silver too. Ok from a distance but looks kind of wonky up close

Saw a red left-hooker 959 or lookalike a few months ago near Ellerslie.

Looked like a 911 from a distance, but when I got closer had the 959 badge and bridge spoiler. Only thing was that the body shape was a bit complicated (can't think of a better word) to look like a 959. I'd say a body kit job. But who knows?

Only 337 ever made. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_959

If anyone wants a replica...

You might be right. It didn't sound smooth like a FI engine. Saw an F40 maybe a month ago. That was definitely a kit car.

i do know colin giltrap might still own a genuine 959 but i dont know the colour. he used to own a 996 gt1 strasse version in silver. remember seeing it a pukekohe doing demo laps during a race meet in 1999/2000. i remember that the interior smelt the same as my 78 924 of time and when it went past you only hear the intake wooshing! it was sold to an overseas buyer.

there was a early 70's 911-959 replica for sale on trademe for a couple of years running. it was white and he wanted a lot of money for it.

there's an F40 replica that races with a turbo supra motor. it raced (still races?) in SuperGT. heres an old vid of it from Pukekohe.

There's a run on the 27th Nov to the Puhoi Cheese factory, leaving from the Poenamo. I don't plan to go this time around though its essential to have at least one 944 at such events. Strongly recommend these days out, to give the cars a workout and meet a nice bunch of folks.

More details here http://www.porsche964.co.nz/Upcoming.html
Details were just circulated today.

Nick's email is on the site and if you PM me I will tell you the email address of the organiser.
Please be sure to check in with him so numbers for lunch are good.

A shot from the last run, also to a cheese factory as it happens.

Hi S. It's a plain old 944 (pre-oval dash) but with a kickass paintjob (simply kickass - fuchs too as I recall). The front spoiler is newer, good spot.

Nice owners too. I hear from Nick they picked up a ticket or three on the way back from Kaimai!

Also, check the wheels on that Boxster.

Hope all well. Not seen you for a bit.
