So Long and thanks for all the Fish
Rennlist Friends:
After owning a 944 for 9 years, I decided to sell it for $1 to a friend who is willing to tackle some expensive suspension work that I wasn't ready to (we also found the infamous oil cooler leak had started as well for him.) My time with the 944 has been a great car experience, and everything I learned on this site was a big part of that.
So at the risk of Tifo posting a story on my non-technical post or Tom R telling me I asked way too much for the car, I wanted to take a moment to thank them and everyone else on this site for their contributions. The knowledge that is kept here is powerful and it's a diverse group of people that I would not have connected with otherwise.
Good luck to you all with your cars and everything else. Of course I will stop by now and then to check out your cars and think about what kind I will get next. I already know that it will not be red again, and it will have more power.
Cheers!
Eric

Weren't you the guy?
Eric,
One of my favorite memories from Rennlist is the photo that you once posted just after you were married of you and the new wife going away in the 944. I'm pretty sure that was you wasn't it? And now it's great to see your sig with the kids.

Thanks, Guys.
Rick that wasn't me. I've had my wife twice as long as the 944 (and I'm keeping her!) but that sounds like a cool picture.
Tifo - love the stories. Great way to make a point.
Dang! Looks like I left $1-4 on the table. I was looking for the right new owner. My friend Rob is going to get it all sorted out and back on the road again.
Onspeed - You bet. That shirt gets worn all over southeast Wisconsin.
Cheers,
Eric

So... a 944 with a v8 conversion in your future?

Eric - You joined rennlist about the same time I did, and I've enjoyed you being here for all that time. Too few of the old school still around, alas. Take care, and make sure to let us know what you get! 993 maybe?
And I think Tifo should post a classic clown story for old-time's sake.

I think a 944 S3 (NA body with 968 drivetrain and brakes) would be ideal. I'd like to drive a v8 conversion sometime though. I need more time and money before I consider either of those seriously.
I promised the kids we'd own something cool when they learn to drive. (Right now a V70 R, which is pretty cool, but they are not on board with the sport wagon concept.)
Thanks for the kind words.

You'll be back. They all come back. Except James Caan. And he'll be back.
I love the pictures how your kids have grown in 9 years, but the car is the same. Still looking good as ever. These cars are eternal.
