Floyd is very responsive. He'll email you if there is any question at all about your order - he really wants to help you get it right. After I got my chip, I discovered my computer was 2 years newer model than the car. Floyd worked with me to get the right chip for both the car and the computer. I think I got mine original order in less than a week.

I did no testing, but it does feel a lot different.

You don't need to run 93 octane. I used FRWilk's "Full Race" chip on my 86 n/a with zero issues running 87 octane. I ran that for two years, and the car ran flawlessly. I also got nearly 30mpg on long haul road trips like the 1200km round trip I made to 944 Fest. We have low compression engines folks. The recommended fuel for these cars is 87. Don't get caught up on the 91RON figures as they are for European gas..very different values.

The only reason I don't have the Wilk chip now is that I sold that car with it.
BTW. The car was a like a whole new car with that chip. It really woke that car up!

I had the FR Wilk race chip for 3 years in my 86 NA and loved it. I've been searching high and low for another one since I fried my DME by either jump starting or a loose ground that was found by Porsche. I'm going to install the MaxHP chip in my new DME soon.

Does anyone here know what happened to Floyd Wilkes? I understand he is the only one that has developed a software to tune DIY the 996 DME 5.2.2 . I want to make a few small changes to my program (like fan on temps ect.) and he had a software for less than $200 that could do anything to the early 996 and earlier DME's, but the web site is down Pro2DMEeditor.com and has been down for about a year?? So if anyone has any information on Floyd or a contact number or anything please let me know.

Last I heard, he was NLA. I had heard talk here and there that he's disappeared before, only to come back later. But like you've said, no one I've heard of has talked with him in over a year. Good luck!

Yea, I bought the Pro2DMEeditor from the website and never heard anything, got my money back,BUT I WANT IT !!..lol IT's the only software available that has all the maps located and formatted for edit for the 996 with the Motronic 5.2.2 Dme. I have been trying really hard to find him, I was hoping since he evidently has a 944 that someone here knows him personally. I hope nothing bad has happened to him !!
