Hi, a recent problem has occured with my 944. my 944 does not turn off, ive replaced the ignition switch, but when i turn the key to turn the car off it does not shut off, in order to turn off the car i must either purposely stall the car or disconnect the battery, which i have to do because the lights on the dash/gauges stay on. the car is an '84. Any body ever have this problem?

haha yeah +1 on not wanting to start. i agree with dme relay stuck open. take it out and ohm it out and see what you get.

.....so if you disconnect the battery, the car shuts off? .....that's not right. car should keep running even w/o a battery

turns out there was a short on the front wiring harness that was causing current to stay on the coil. took care of the frayed and burnt wires and now the car operates nominal. and installed the frwilk chip while the interior was taken apart.
