Default Weird noise...

My 944 just recently started making a clunking noise in the rear of the car, it seems to only make this noise when the car is in gear, and not in neutral coasting to a stop. I have also noticed my brakes seem a bit stiffer. any ideas?

Clunking noise in rear is generally CV shaft related... Check the Rubber Boots. and see if you can feel any play in them. also is the noise more apparent, or change when going around corners?

This seems to be the most obvious issue to check...

Thanks, as you said i checked the CV joints and the drivers side axle is the one with all the play. So it looks like ill be needing a new CV joint.

Yup. Welcome to the club... Haha ,,, I have to do mine too.

I notice that They are Wicked expensive for the 2 CV Joint and Shaft Assembly... But if you go to Autozone Website you can actually buy a complete rebuilt assembly for a 1/3 of the price. Like $80 per side i think.
Fairly Easy installation, just make sure to Torque everthing correctly, because i have heard a lot of people have the bolts back out, and leaving them stranded...

Good Luck!
