Default fuel sending unit ground

Does anyone have a pic of the ground wire for the fuel sending unit. Clarkes says that it is on the inside fire wall drivers side. A PIC would be great. Fuel gauge reads 3/4 when full, new sending unit, cleaned the contacts on the back of the instrument cluster. Any advise would be helpful.

Thanks

I had the same issues with mine. I took it out, cleaned it well (in and out) then re-installed it. It seems to have fixed the issue with the incorrect readings. You can use clark's resistance table to measure the resistance at the fuel sender contacts to confirm that it is working properly. Mine was a bit off before I cleaned it.

I don't have a pic, and this may only apply to the early 44's, but I'll try to describe.

First, assume the position! (head under dash, feet hanging our driver side door)

Look up to your right and towards the firewall (so facing the upper corner by the firewall toward the driver's fender)

Behind the bulk of wires are the ground points. Yours may not have the wires as your relay box is under the hood.

Hope this helps.
