Default 245/45-16 street tires still made (running list)

Lots of info here and on pelican, but I'm finding that posts even 2 years old are outdated as I start to look to replace the Pirellis on my 951. So I thought I'd put up a running list of 245/45-16s for everyday street use that are still made.

As of June 12, 2012:

Bridgestone Potenza RE-11

Primewell PZ900 (appears to be a Firestone budget or vintage brand)

Toyo Proxes RA1 (DOT approved competition tire)

Unfortunately, that's all I can dig up. Hoping you lot know of some more...

Respond with tires that are still made and I'll add them above. If I can get a summary review of each (1-2 sentences on dry grip, wet drip, feel, and noise), I'll post that as well.

Just as a checklist to self. brands that (to my knowledge) NO LONGER make street tires in this size:
Bridgestone/Firestone
BF Goodrich
Continental
Dunlop
Falken
Goodyear
Hankook
Kumho
Michelin
Pirelli
Yokohama

Previously listed as available, but now discontinued:
Fuzion ZRi
Goodyear Eagle GT
Nexen N3000
Sumitomo HTR-Z
Toyo Proxes T1R (Still available in EU and APAC, but not North America)

Also helpful to know who also makes a "matching" 225-50-16 for the front

Yeah, there's still plenty of 17s (245/40-17 is the size you want to maintain stock diameter), but for many reasons I want to keep my stock 16" club sports.

From what I've seen, all of these have matching 225s - it's a much more common size. Let me know if I'm wrong and I'll note it next to the specific model that doesn't have a match.

I just went by MFGs site. I assumed if it was listed it was still made. Except for the Fuzion which is carried at thetirerack.com, all of these are probably going to need to be special ordered through the closest shop that reps the brand.

According to their site, you're right. Nexen N3000 added.

245-50-16. sorry about my first post, it was a typo. why do you want 45 profile tires? 50's are fine.

50s are about an inch bigger in diameter than stock and about .75" bigger than the 225s in the front. So it's an extra .5" of ride height, a touch of negative caster, and a bit of added rake to the lines of the car. It works, but I'd rather run stock size given the option. Once the 45s really are gone, I'll probably go to 50s unless I switch to 17s.

that was my next suggestion, maybe its time to move to 17's ... 15" sizes suffered just as 16's did

now that a lot of stock wheel options are 17 ...

I am getting concerned about this. My Turbo S still runs on the stock Club sport 16" wheels. I have no intention of changing to 17 wheels. To me the club sports give the car is proper character.

So not sure what I will do wo my current ES100 wear down. Good news is that I still have life in them.

Kuhmo makes a XS street tire 265/45/16 for the rear of 944's that is excellent.

Do you then run 245s in the front? Seems like a recipe for understeer if you don't.

Also, 265 is a lot of tire for the stock power output and chassis. I feel like I'd sooner go symmetric 225 F&R...

Ditto, I prefer the look of the club sports and in terms of driving dynamics haven't felt like I wanted less sidewall. I'll run them stock as long as I can, and will only go to 17s grudgingly.

There may still be some in stock, but I don't think they're making it anymore. 225/50-16 pulls up several models on their site. 245/45-16 produces no results.
