burned off the other bushings tonite. Used a 12 ton press and easily pushed the torsion carrier bushing out, then pressed the new poly bushings in. Wire wheel took the spring plate stuff down to bare metal, then sprayed them graphite and stuck the new bushings on there. Almost time for torsion bar install!

scrubbed down the torsion carrier the other day and reassembled the torque tubes into it. Had to remove and adjust them one time but not terrible since it was all apart. Tonite i got the rear up in the car again and she sits very nicely-should sit low once all the rear end is assembled again w/ gas. Decided to put my shiney new shocks on for a photo opp and now i can get the brake lines etc all hooked up and move to the front of the car.

well after a while trying to figure out what to do w/ two race cars i settled on selling the chumpcar "the Dragon" and finishing my spec car so next year i can start racing w/ NASA. This week i started back on the spec car and have managed to make alittle progress. The short block is together and today i had docboost come over and help me lower it onto the cross member for installation. Installed the rear main seal and pulled the clutch from the old motor. Will have to get the flywheel turned this week and then i can install my new Spec clutch. I also got the front a-arm bushings in and onto the crossmember along w/ the new high pressure hose for the power steering. Dropped the ps pump and alternator onto the front of the motor and put my front struts back together after a quick re-spray and some new 350lb springs.

The more things i put together on the car the longer the list of parts i still need seems to get. Today i got online and ordered...

outer tie rods
clutch hose
caliper rebuild kits
rear hawk hp+ pads

this week after the clutch is in i'll try to get the motor and front suspension installed and if the new headgasket and belt shows up i can put the top end together as well.

Been awhile since ive updated this post since usually everything is documented in my blog in my sig. I figured i would do a quick recap of what has been going on since my last post.

SO the motor went together very nicely and started up, finished the exhaust, got the interior all together, painted the struts, new springs etc, rebuilt the brakes and the car is aligned and driving. I had a three month vacation from my spec car while building another guys spec car including paint, motor, brakes, custom dash etc, so now that im back on my car its coming along once again.

Recently got the sunroof reinstalled and attached, mounted the valance on after my turbo radiator and oil cooler install and last night i finished painting the stripes on after installing the custom vinyl printed by our guy Van "the man". Painted 20 wheels red- eight of mine and three sets for Sam's car, and mounted my new RA1's on both sets of mine. Last week i got the rollbar padding in and besides wiring in my transponder and some minor details she is ready to rock- i'll be driving it in April at a PCA DE to shake her down she will definitly be at the fest for the SPec car Shootout , but racing may have to wait until next year with NASA. Either way she will be ready come time.
