Default Power steering pump ?

My power steering pump pully moved forward and wore a hole in lower rad hose,Power steering stopped working too.

Does the rebuild /seal kit come with the retaining clip ?

I am also interested in picking up a used power steering pump for 1986 944,Please pm me if you have one.I would consider local pick up.Im in RI
Thanks,

Paul

Yes, the shaft retaining clip is included in the kit.

You should rebuild it yourself... piece of cake! I just did mine 2 weeks ago, it's a painless process feels good to "do it yourself".

Im leaning that way but I wasnt sure if the kit had the clip.I have not yet taken it apart to be sure nothing else is broke.

BTW where did you get your kit from?

If you check the rennbay web site I think you will see a video showing how to do the job. Used to be there anyway.

Couldn't find a link on Rennbay when I did mine, but found their video on YouTube...

Good on yer Matt - I just looked, couldn't find it and was about to post the copy from my laptop. Good simple video and an easy and rewarding job to do oneself I reckon (did my 928, not 944, but kit is the same)

I succussfully rebuilt it with the encouragement here.It worked ,,,,for a week.It seems like the C clip came off, again. Im thinking its a problem with the shaft.
Backing out of a parking place i turned the wheel 80% and felt the power steering feel increase,no power assist, made it homw and the pully moves out, same as before.I guess I need a used pump.
