Default power steering leak

I changed out my power steering fluid on my 84 a few weeks back and ever since then the main line(bottom of the pump) where you drain the fluid out. Power steering fluid is leaking from that , i checked it and it is as tight as possible. Any ideas?

Apart from just replacing that line, are you sure it's not dripping down from the reservoir? Might be worth making sure as it's much easier...

Did you use synthetic, if so, remove it quickly it will destroy the system. Dextron III is all you need.

Did you change the copper sealing rings on the PS fittings when you drained the fluid on the PS pump? Usually not reuseable.

Have you upgraded to the short PS fill hose & fitting from the reservoir to the PS pump?

If you hear a grinding noise, you can get a PS pump rebuilding kit for about $25.

Is the orange seal/o-ring reusuable? I made sure it was tight but it looks like its leaking from there. Whats the name of the part for that?

944online.com sells the rebuild kits and a copper crush-washer set (and anything in between) depending on what need.

Confused?

The "orange seal" ---do you mean the copper sealing ring(s) by the hose connection?
You may be able to get the copper sealing ring(s) at the dealer or ??. It probably is bad and cannot be reused. Depending on the hose, there are 2 sizes 16 x 20 or 14 x 18.
