I have a 86 951 and the gage is saying im pushing almost 2 bars which is about 28 lbs. i know stock is 11 and i need ideas on what to do so i don't do any damage also i was told that there is a stage 2 chip set in it from the previous owner if that makes a difference

yes you will not actually be into boost until you see the factory gauge at one bar. 20psi and you would notice a huge difference in power but i doubt the factory wastegate would allow it.

Aftermarket/reburned chips are designed to remove the overboost protection and remap fuel etc. I have chips for stock turbo, 16 pounds iirc. I'd have to get details on the rest of the specs. I have them somewhere. Never got a chance to install them

New to 944 go here for some very solid info: http://www.clarks-garage.com/
944 obscene is correct. to help understand it: assume armo is just a a typo for atmo for atmosphere (atm). 1 atmosphere = ~14.7 psi (at sea level) which is the ambient air pressure we live and breathe in.
1.75 bar = 1.73 atm = 25.38 psi-14.7=10.68 psi boost over ambient
Handy converter here: http://www.unit-conversion.info/pressure.html
Performance Mods are endless. Read up before you spend a dime!!
Lindsey Racing (www.lindseyracing.com) and Vitesse (www.vitesseracing.com) are highly regarded names for mods at all levels. Clarks has a good overview discussion.
good luck and welcome~
