Back up light switch
I have searched the forum and cound not find anything on this. I had a rocker switch in the centerconsole for the backup lights when I put it in revears I had to flipp the switch to get the backuplights on. I now got a new backuplight swtich to install in the tranny, and was wondering how I hook it up. If anyone have photos of wher the cables go and or diagram of the cables help me

I have full wiring diagrams, and can at least tell you the colors of the wires and their approximate locations (if the po that routed them to the dash switch cut them and removed them from the rear...)

I have an 83 mod. Don't know what PO did with the car, but its been fixed alot up. Even looks like its 2 parts welded together, and the driverdoor was crocked. I think I got the door back in place and now I have to fix the electical.

From F18 on the fuse relay board (that's connector F pin 18) there should be a black wire with a green stripe all the way back to the switch.
Then from the other side of the switch a black wire with blue stripe runs to the left side 7 pin connector for the tail lights; pin 3.
A second black/blue wire running from pin 3 on the left tail light connector to pin 3 of the same connector for the right tail light...
Then from pin 3 of each connector to the reverse lights in each housing...
Hope this helps!
FWIW, my diagrams SAY USA models, but I dont think there is any difference for ROW models in the basic wiring... just odd items like rear fog lights and such...

Also, before you go running wires, make sure your reverse switch actually closes when you put it in reverse... I would hate for you to spend a bunch of time running wire, only to find out the switch was buggered!
