Warning: Caliper Porn Ahead

the pedal feel is great, the balance seems spot on, pad changes are fast, they are a direct swap for the NA, and i can run them under my smaller diameter (lighter) wheels. function win. if i wanted "bling" i would not be driving a 924.

Yeah if you're gonna put some bigger wheels on there, you gotta fill them in.I do like those wheels tho, look lightweight.... Reality check is the 928 GTS rotors cost as much as the budget deficit. Mod-up the BoxsterS 318mm rotors on the cheap....

I agree a very nice way to blow $1800-$2000 if you have it.
But the idea of the BoxsterS rotors are appealing to both me and my wallet. Waiting for my registration on 944 hybrids to be confirmed so I can see for myself.

This is the best braking 944 I've ever ridden in......

God, I love this thread. Those LS430 rotors are almost as big as the 993TT ones, only .1" smaller.
What part of a woman are brakes a reflection of? Hips? Maybe legs? I'm feeling a Van Halen video coming on....

Those are Boxster-S rotors and Lexus LS430 calipers. That's not my car, but mine has them as well, but slotted-drilled BoxsterS rotors for the 948 daily driver. Ultra's car really will throw you thru the window with them boosted. I told him to not worry about a proportioning valve, but I'm not a track guru as he.

Raymon got his on with 16 x 8 Fuchs all the way around and had to put 20mm spacers on the front he said and he liked the fact his wheel width stuck out some from the fenders as it's a track monster. That tells me with a set of hats 15mm deeper and 15mm spacers between the radial brackets.....no wheel spacers required.
On my Turbo Twist 2's (18's) I am running no spacers. The LS430 calipers and Boxster S rotors clear the inner sweep by 8-9 mm's
Here's the lazy way to bleed brakes......

I have the "old school" Big reds (1991 C2 turbo) and Coleman floating rotors (a kit made by VCI). On my 86 they required machining the hubs, but when I upgraded to 87 hubs and spindles the hats cleared the hub and the caliper lined up if I flipped the caliper adapter around.
The original setup did NOT clear the fuchs, the issue wasn't the diameter, but the radius of the wheel-to-webbing . I imagine that some spacers might have fixed the problem, but I already had 8" fuchs in the front, so I went to 8.5x17s to make the problem go away.
I've been told the big reds will work with calipers up to 355 mm (up from 330), but I haven't done it. Yet.
Pix here.
