951 brakes under 15" phonedials ,myth confirmed !
Friday i got my 951 brakes from member "sdstimson" that i would like to thank ,real great guy to deal with, all parts are perfect and i got them in a mind blowing 2 days ,from USA to Italy in 2 freakin' days.
There are a few posts online that say 15" phonedials with 951 part numbers will fit over 951 brakes but no one ever confirmed this to be true.
Today i test fited the front brakes under one of my 15" phonedial and to my surprise they do clear just fine , it's tight but they clear with about 6mm to spare. Now to give everything a good clean ,some paint and to get them on.

6mm is huge.. good to know..
if you get a chance, could you measure the inner diameter of your wheel?
i want to see if my 15" BBS will clear too

Hey Cat, are you saying that they'll fit under phonies that DON'T have the 951 designation? And what is the offset of that rotor? Use Oven-Off and a Brillo pad, they'll come clean.
Yes oven clean is good, i have been using oven-off for years on just about anything, works great but if not carefull it can do more damage than good, last time i cleaned the gearbox ,forgot it eats alluminium like crazy ,i soaked it with the stuff and left it over night , found it all coroded ,now i have to take a whire wheel to it then paint it.
Neat
Honestly I like the look of n/a's with 15s, especially wide squat ones. Too bad finding street tires of a respectable width in them is hard.

Thats great that they fit! Watch for the inner wheel weights! I see in the pic you have some. I'm sure they will clear, but will definately be close!
You'll need the better brakes in order to dodge the scooters and motorbikes zipping all over the place like pesky little fly's!

I just test fitted a 951S front caliber under E30 BMW's 15" BBS wheels. Fit like a glove. I wanted to use 951 S front caliper with 16" new ET Phonies, let's see how they fit, or do i had to make some modifications

Theres a myth? I was rocking early offset phonies on a 1991 944T Cabriolet all the time. In fact my car got wrecked with one on the front (not the cause of the wreck). I put more phone dials on it from an 86 N/a and drove it home after all of the tires got ripped off.
