Default NEW car ?

Im looking at a new Porsche, so I don't have to do so mutch work. My 944 is ALOT of work and im hoping I can sell it and get a car with "no" work. Only small stuff like styling/interior.
But wonder what car should I go for when bothe cars cost around $30000 ? (Price in Norway EXPENSIVE)
What car will be least electrical/mechanink problems with ? And how mutch fuel will the 928 drink over the Boxter ?

A : Porsche 928 1979 31000km, 350hk 5 liter (Strosek)

B : Porsche Boxter 1997 191000km, 205hk 2.5 liter (Cayman styling)

If you don't want work, then I'd say stay away from a 928. From what I can gather they're bigger money pits than 944s.

Yup... Stay away from the 928 for sure. Lots of Time and $$$$...

Not sure about Norway but in the USA, you can easily get a 996, Boxster S, or Cayman for under $30k.

if you go the Boxster Route, makes sure it is an 'S'

Lykke til!

I would love to get a Boxter S, but her in Norway the cheapest one is $55000 !
I can get a 2.7L for $48000.
But don't wanna spend mutch more than 30k
Don't I get more power if I chip the 2.5 ?

I was actually just helping a Norwegian friend pick out a car as she's not really very knowledgeable about these sorts of things. Ireland has fairly high new car prices and a semi-reasonable used car market. I thought Norway wouldn't be too much different. Boy was I ever wrong. We finally settled in a 2007 Golf GT 1.9 diesel. The Norwegian price works out to around €22,500. The same car here in Ireland would go for $10,000-$14,000. Prices up north are INSANE.

I own both a 928 and a 951. They are about the same time and money honestly.

ANY car can take a bunch of effort. Usually the cheapest car you will ever have is the one you already own. As soon as you make a switch you will find things to fix, replace, etc.

Boxster would be more reliable (less electrical issues, mechanical too.. and lots of parts availability). A 30+ year old "supercar" does not spell or sound, "reliable" or "cheap to maintain"
