Default ADVICE NEEDED

My dash lights are still flickering . got some advice to try replacing the dimmer switch... did that, and it is still happening. Voltage regulator recently replaced ( symptons were there before doing that job ) it was definitly shot. my readings at the battery with all accesories on are 13.40 volts . I say this because on doing a search for this sympton someone suggested failing alternator could be the issue .
Any thoughts ? ...the grounds are in good shape at least all the ones i can see , the car is super clean.
1990 944 s2 with 92000 mi on clock,
Thanks Joe

You can try pulling the gauge cluster out of the car, cleaning the contacts on the back...

Also you can try cleaning the conections at the bulbs themselves!

thanks for the response.
They are flickering bright to dim ... not bright to off for what it is worth.
yes ive had the cluster out for the reflective material upgrade , that was
months ago and it really helped... now youve got me thinking maybe i did something ... just seems if it was a bad connection they would flicker off .

Not necessarily.. a bad connection can cause any sort of flicker. I too would start at the connections on the gauges and the lights as well.
