I have my cars in the 2 car garage right now. The other side of the house has a 1-car garage. That's going to become the porsche garage and projects area. My girlfriend also bought a '72 Honda CB350 that were going to redo and turn into a cafe racer type bike.

I ordered some wall cabinets for storage. I'll move my tool cabinet over there and build a basic workbench. I got my porsche badge vinyl decal from Van that will go in there. I installed overhead lighting. I'm going to epoxy the floor after it warms up again. I'll probably pick up a few 944 posters off of ebay.

I'd like to get a heater that runs off of 110volt (no 220 in the garages) but I'm having trouble finding one. It would need to hang from the ceiling, since floor space is a premium in this garage.

What else am I missing?

Computer and monitor for accessing here and clarks-garage.com! Indispensible in my garage. Also a stereo and bookshelf speakers mounted in the corners. A pull-down retractable shop light is also handy.

i propose a contest to see who can spend the most on any non-turbo 944, S, S2 or 968. (if we include turbines, the numbers will get so utterly ridiculous, you'd think we just as well could be sipping Amontillado over Veal marsala at the Pista di Fiorano after a lovely day of racing).... 968 nominees in no particular order, 968LS1, Lemming, EKrause... i hope one day i can live in their world.

There ya go. Bonus points if you can hookup a large (22"+) LCD to it for a bigger view on diagnosing stuff. Mount it to the wall above the workbench if little space.

I also use mine to stream Pandora (off my Wi-Fi network) into said stereo. It's a great addition and makes the space even more enjoyable. Don't forget a Porsche flag on eBay!

As for heat, have you considered a Kerosene salamader style? I use one in the winter. Runs off of 110v, is 40K BTU and warms my insulated 2 car garage to "light shirt" weather in less than an hour (if it is deep in the minuses outside.

This is my current garage. I've never been happier! My wife will never send me to the "dog house" because I never want to come back in once I'm out there! You can't see it in the photo, but I have a flatscreen dvd surround sound system setup out there so I can view jpeg files when working on the car! Though I usually have a movie playing..ones that the wife hates to watch (I'm a zombie fan)

You don't need much else...

A drop light and extension cord that are on retractable reels. Shelving for spare parts. Jack stands. Rolling stool (for comfort and for visitors to sit on). A vice on the workbench.

For the heater, look into propane or kerosene.

i got mine at a biglots along time ago but i think lowes carrys it

cheap alternative for padding is just use wood. Dad did this at his workshop and it does work
