Default What seals do I need?

So here is my problem, I am putting the oil cooler housing off of an 87 951 on to an 84 944 NA. What oil cooler seal kit do I need?

Paragon has an early and late kit but I am making a Frankenstein I guess.

Thanks guys.

And if searching can find it....

I've been very interested in this mod myself - please keep us posted with your progress so I can shamelessly copy your mod! Does this block off the water so it can 'never' mix with the oil supply, or is this mod strictly for cooler running ('never' because there is no such thing on a P-car...)?

Well it deletes the internal cooler, but there is still a tube with orings on it that can fail. That happened on my 951 a few years back. It should make it less prone to leak.

And I am doing it for the cooler running and I have a spare 951 set up I can use.

The only difference is the seals that are included for the oil pressure relief valve. If you are still using the original 3 piece valve, you can order either kit as you won't use any of the o-rings anyway. If you have added the one piece valve to your early car, still order the early kit (per the instructions).

Using the turbo oil filter housing you won't use the shims or the thick black sealing rings. You'll only need the rubber/metal seal and two of the green o-rings (for the short tube).

Late kit.

I just installed a an 86 951 oil cooler housing on my 84 944 block and used a late kit with metal/rubber seal for the housing. I don't like that large floopy o-ring they early kits often have. The only trick is you really should use the 1 piece oil pressure relief valve. The 3 piece style may not work with 87 housing. Plus the later style OPRV won't work in the block. If the current OPRV in the 84 block is 1 piece then reuse that and you will be fine.

Thanks guys. I will play with the OPRV and see what I can get to work. I think I have one of each style laying around.

And yea when it starts I will update the sig. I have never driven this one lol.
