Default Swapping Struts between NA and Turbo

Hey guys, i've tried searching and i'm getting confusing results because of the early and late offset cars.

Anyway, I have a 87 NA and my dad has a 88 Standard Suspension 951. My Dad just bought new koni inserts for his car and my plan was to do the following could you please let me know if it will work.

1. Remove and Strip the NA Struts
2. Hollow out and install inserts in the NA Strut Housing
3. Remove and Strip the 951 Struts
4. Install Springs and Hardware from 951 on the Updated NA Housings
5. Install Springs Hardware from NA on the old 951 Struts
6. Install Both back in the correct cars.

From what i could find this doesnt seem to be a problem because both are late offset but i just want to make sure.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

its a process. the 87+ have a sealed strut structure. Why? Who the heck knows why they did this. Makes it a pita to watch everyone switch out inserts, lol!

944online does make a kit for doing this. I'd call them and ask the how's. They're be good people

is this what you're after?

Thanks to all - I'm in a similar pinch also. I have Koni Yellows in my '86 944 NA that I'm parting out. Given the price of new bolt-in Koni Yellows for my 968, I'd really prefer to use the existing struts from the old car. It's a relief to know that this should work for the most part...

I don't think they will work in an 86 N/A because the early offset struts are different than the late offset.

+1 86na struts will not fit any later car. The spindles are different.
