Default For the umpteenth time, if in doubt try the DME relay!

So long story short my daily driver was stolen two days ago (right from the street in front of my place no less!) and being that it is February in Minnesota I don't really consider my Porsche's to be alternate cars but I figured I'd give my '90 Cab a go as my new DD until my car is recovered or I have something else.

Anyway... go out to the garage and no start, everything cranking and sounding good but no go. I was beginning to get bummed because it was freaking cold out and I did not want to be fixing my car in that weather but on a whim I pulled the DME Relay from my turbo and stuck it into my cab and voila! started up and ran perfectly.

So everyone if you have cold start issues REPLACE THE DME RELAY. I've been dealing with this car starting hard under 50 degrees for 3 years and didn't heed the million times over advice here on checking that relay, mainly because its my summer car, at least when bastards don't take my winter car

Needless to say I'm a happy camper now though, this car is more fun than the other one anyway

On my way home one time my oxygen sensor gauge pegged in the rich area and the car started running like crap, then died a few miles down the road. Sure enough it was the relay. I didn't think a simple relay could cause such a weird problem, but now I don't go anywhere without a spare or a jumper
