Default Mystery : Does this belong in a 944?

It's a 300 VDC / .3 MFD capacitor. It was in the glove box along with a radiator temp sensor, not sure why. Any ideas?

Thanks

it looks like the condenser for an old "point and condenser" ignition... I don't ever recall seeing one in a 944.

condensers like that were also used in the good ol' days as radio noise suppressors on the coil.

Also used on alternators to reduce interference, a whining noise when listening to AM especially.
