Default 8v 2.5 NA MAF - Will It Ever Happen

So we've had the Miller MAF that did not get finished, the n-tune which seems promising but still waiting and a few ghetto MAF's that didn't quite succeed in a complete solution.

How hard can it be? Is it that vendors think na development just isn't worth their time? I know we're a cheap crowd but there must be some money to be made.

Let's see where we all are in this. If you would SERIOUSLY be willing to spend around $300 for a tested NA MAF solution that is reliable and provides reasonable performance gains add your name here. Maybe if we get a bunch of names a vendor will step up. I'll take two for starters.

yes it will for sure. I know Josh is very close to it. There are so many projects he is working on right now that will be well recieved. I think he could relese it right now if not for trying to implement some other things at the same time.

Maybe if there is enough interest shown he'll just release it as is. I know it works, because I've used it.

Sid is correct - the 944NA kit is all but done.

But MAGK944, you did highlight some of the issues: tested. I could release it now, but it would not be as tested as I would like... I am simply not willing to sell something that I'm not 100% confident with.

The second issue is cost... I sympathies, as I definitely wouldn't want to spend much for the limited gains an NA will see (compared to the turbo). But this doesn't take away the fact that quality components cost more. I have looked at less expensive MAF sensors (typically Bosch based) - but their reliability is crap. Spend just a little bit of time searching a VW/Audi forum about MAF failures. I am not willing to sell hardware that has such a shoddy track-record.

That said, I will have the kit done, and ready for sale next month.

Gains, I will quantify on the dyno - but typically on a turbo car we see nearly 10% increase across the board from just going to MAF (no other changes). I expect to see something similar for the NA.

Cost, I will put up once I get closer to release.

Here are a couple quick pics:

I am slightly confused. Does this bolt to the stock set up or replace it?

It replaces the AFM, but otherwise is a bolt-on kit.

I guess I just dont get it. It looks like it bolts to the stock AFM assembly, or does it bolt to the Throttle body?

Here is another picture (not the same pipe, but should help convey the idea):
